IBRACE – Brazilian Certification Institute – is a nonprofit organization accredited by ANATEL – The Brazilian National Telecommunications Agency – on September 28, 2001 through Act no.19,436.

This assignment was granted by ANATEL after IBRACE was rigorously assessed in terms of the technical qualification of its staff, its legal good standing, and the quality system to carry on assessment processes – on its own account and stead – to evaluate the technical compliance of telecommunication products as well as to grant compliance certificates upon them.

Differential

IBRACE has acted as ANATEL's Designated Certification Organism (OCD) since 2001, the year when ANATEL delegated the Certification Process to the OCD´s. Due to experience earned after thousands of certificate issuances, IBRACE understands that its customers are in search of a fast and precise service in order to reduce the time spent between product development and access to the market. IBRACE has also invested in its premises, training, and improve the certification process in order to streamline and speed up the specialized kind of service that the market expects from an OCD.

IBRACE provides its customers with the Full Service for Anatel Homologation , which stands for a complete service range including a complete business proposal including the best options of Laboratories, follow-up on the delivery of laboratory samples, schedule management, document collection, Product evaluation Anatel fee payment, and the filing of the whole process at ANATEL Website. Customers are therefore only responsible to forward their own company and product-related documents as required by IBRACE and, if necessary, provide technical information to support test laboratories.

In a similar way as it happens in Brazil, telecommunications equipment commercialized in other Latin American countries require the manufacturer/distributor to obtain a prior permit, authorization letter, or any other approval, which shall be granted by the corresponding telecommunications regulatory agency of each country.
