A product certification process can be started by following these steps:
1) Request for proposal to IBRACE through:
Application through any of these options requires technical specifications of the products as well as a clear definition of all interfaces (when applicable) concerned with the certification.
2) IBRACE will check whether your product fits the list of products defined by ANATEL. If so, the technical requirements to be applied to the product will be defined as well as the laboratories qualified and accredited for the tests. Next, a commercial proposal will be made containing all related costs and information. Finally, it will be forwarded to your approval.
3) After the terms, conditions and values are agreed upon the case, contracting occurs through a formal communication of acceptance made by the customer (ex:e-mail, fax) choosing a payment condition option.
After contracting, an Contract Administrator from IBRACE will be responsible for the project and take control of all required procedures, such as document collection, sample delivery, schedule control, until the entire process is finished when the IBRACE Certificate is issued and all information are sent to Anatel.
According to ANATEL Resolutions 242 and 323, the maintenance of a Telecommunications Product Compliance Certificate issued by the OCD is mandatory – as long as the product remains being shipped by the Certificate holder. The maintenance process varies according to the product category defined by ANATEL.
The Certification Maintenance Process at the OCD comprises the following:
We recommend starting the maintenance process as early as possible (maximum of 90 days before the end of expiry date) in order to avoid that certification validity expires without receiving maintenance by the OCD for an additional period. The expiry date appears on the upper face of the certificate issued by IBRACE.
PRODUCT CATEGORIES:
Category I – Products subject to Periodical Evaluation after 12 months since the technical compliance certification has been issued by the ACO. Resolution 529 test required (Safety) for all the products for which these tests were necessary at the initial certification. Additional tests required in case the product has been changed and/or presented failure during the tests performed for the previous certification.
Category II – Products subject to Periodical Evaluation after 24 months since the technical compliance certification has been issued by the ACO. Resolution 529 test required (Safety) for all the products for which these tests were necessary at the initial certification. Additional tests required in case the product has been changed and/or presented failure during the tests performed for the previous certification.
Category III – Products ranked under this category shall only go through maintenance if the initially certified product has been changed and/or the technical requirements defined by ANATEL underwent any modification.
IMPORTANT:
- Samples and pictures to be used during the maintenance process must be recent ones.
ANATEL allows transferring certifications from one OCD to another at any time.
The customer chooses the OCD to work with.
The customer chooses the OCD to work with.
In order to transfer one certificate to another OCD, the customer only needs to provide notice in written to the new OCD specifying the product to be transferred, in addition to send the respective test reports that have already been performed for the current certification. The new OCD will revise the certification according to the rules of the current regulation at the moment of transfer (valid reports will be reapplied). Then, the new OCD will issue a new certificate, which shall be sent to ANATEL. If the regulation or the product have been changed, new tests might be requested.
During OCD transfers, the current ANATEL's homologation code will not be changed, which guarantees certification portability.
