Through Regulations 242 and 323, ANATEL defined a list of products that require homologation. The list is divided in three categories as follows:   

Category I: terminal equipment items aimed at general use to access telecommunications services of collective interest.

Category II: equipment that has not been included in Category I, though they make use of the radioelectric spectrum for signal transmission, including antennas and the ones regarded as restricted radiation radiocommunication equipment (according to specific regulations).

Category III: any products or equipment items requiring regulation, although they do not fit into the definitions of Categories I and II
